A one-of-a-kind ceramic vase - or sake bottle, if you are so inclined. Each wheel-thrown vase is formed from clay foraged in Northern California. Various slips made of locally foraged clays, rocks, and wood ash are applied to the pieces before being fired in a soda kiln. This process brings out the various textures and colors of the clay, so each piece is completely one-of-a-kind.

Berkeley-based Matt Fishman draws from his background as a chef to influence his functional yet distinctive ceramics. His one-of-a-kind pieces focus on local sourcing and fine craftsmanship, often using foraged clays and wild minerals found in the landscapes of Northern California.
